Today the need for my services most
often arises when there is a challenge
to the authenticity of a signature on a
will, deed, check, or other legal instrument.
Over the last fifty years, I have
investigated countless documents in
order to authenticate handwriting and/or signatures, establish authorship, or
investigate some other aspect of
handwriting. In the last six years I
have testified many times in civil and
criminal trials in connection with
various forensic issues including
forgery, authorship of writings, and
authenticity of signatures. Since
becoming involved in forensic
fingerprint and handwriting disciplines,
I have undertaken hundreds of cases that
were resolved actually without my
testimony. In some cases the results may
not have served the client's interest;
those fall by the wayside. It is not unusual
to attend court after twenty, thirty, or
even fifty, hours of document
examination and trial preparation only
to have the adverse party litigant
capitulate. Out
of the many document investigations I
have conducted over the last several
years, only ten went to trial and all
of those were resolved in favor of my
clients.
